Cardiovascular Disease Screening

Heart disease remains the # 1 cause of death worldwide, affecting both men and women alike. Unfortunately, despite conventional methods and guidelines to reduce cardiovascular risk, cardiovascular mortality is on the rise.

Almost half (1 in 2) of all Americans have at least one risk factor for heart disease. These traditional risk factors include cigarette smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, or a family history of heart disease. They do not, however, take into account new risk factors that have emerged from recent research. These include stress, inflammation and digestive disorders.

Early signs of heart disease are not easily identifiable with the most common or even specialized cardiac tests, such as and ECG, an echocardiogram or stress testing.

Dr. Lee advocates for a more comprehensive cardiovascular screening for all American adults.

Screening may consist of any of the following:

  • Blood pressure
  • Waist Circumference
  • Body composition Analysis
  • Routine lipid profile
  • Advanced lipid profile
  • Blood markers of Inflammation
  • Blood Glucose
  • Hemoglobin A1c
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test
  • Adrenal Labs
  • Metabolism and Detox Labs
  • Genetic testing
  • CIMT – Carotid Intima-Media Thickness Test
  • CCS – Coronary Calcium Scan
